Andrographolide provides many different effects mainly antioxidant effect and hepatoprotective effect by which it inhibits lipid peroxidation by lowering the levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances in the liver of animals and also significantly increase the level of hepatic Glutathione concentrations. The anti-inflammatory effects of Andrographolide were due to reducing the inflammatory response associated with Histamine, Dimethyl benzene, and Adrenaline that may be helpful during hepatitis cases. Andrographolide was also studied to be much more potent compared to Sylimarin.
